Brazil has reported another 503 deaths and 14,279 new cases of COVID-19. The figures were published in the daily update of the Health Ministry, released Tuesday evening (Sep. 8).
The total death toll stands at 127,464. There are also 2,385 fatal cases under investigation. The case tally since the beginning of the pandemic is 4,162,073.
Also according to the update, 637,735 people are being monitored and another 3,397,234 have recovered.
COVID-19 across the states
The states with most deaths are São Paulo (31,430), Rio de Janeiro (16,646), Ceará (8,567), Pernambuco (7,741), and Pará (6,269). Those with the fewest deaths so far are Roraima (598), Acre (630), Amapá (675), Tocantins (758), and Mato Grosso do Sul (987).
